It is because of the anti-inflammatory effects of antioxidants such as anthocyanin found in purple cannabis. The antioxidants reduce the oxidative stresses caused by free radicals in the body. The body normally makes free radicals in it's day to day processes like clockwork. But when we add things that are bad for us. Lots of things will cause more free radicals to be created.
The bad thing here is when free radicals are created. They are very unstable and will steal electrons from other atoms and molecules. And that process will make the free radicle stable but will create a chain reaction inside of cells for example. And if way too many are created (Due to doing damage to our body with a lot of abuse) it ends up making changes in our DNA of the cell due to the damage being out of control.
Then soon we start getting sick and our body gets more and more damaged over time and finally, we get a major illness, and until you make changes to limit these free radicals and reduce them you will suffer damage. The next thing you know a cell ends up damaged to the point that its now out of control and damaged in a way it becomes a cancer cell and starts creating new cells that don't work correctly but grow very very fast (Too fast) and they also stop obeying the cell kill command (Cannabis helps kill cells that do not obey the kill command anymore and why it helps with cancer so much) and then you end up with something like cancer.
So with that said. The purple strains are great because they help with areas of the brain that have inflammation thanks to anxiety (Overthinking everything). The brain pathways get used nonstop and create extra free radicals and cause damage to those pathways. So when damage happens you can end up getting stuck in a thought loop and stuck in a cycle. So using purple cannabis high in antioxidants and ones higher in terps that also assist anxiety you are set.
